Adios Amgos! Cats win

The Bobcats won the 35th game of the season and then a surprise announcement was made by David Stern.

David Stern
As NBA commissioner I regret to inform you that the NBA is ceasing operations until further notice due to the combination of Federal and State taxes being so high that not one team can afford to pay their taxes and their players. Rather than going into a lockout over players' wages not being paid, the NBA owners have voted 29-1 to disband the National Basketball association. There are several teams that might try to form a league of their own, but at this time that will be doubtful. You should know that the only team that did not vote for disbandment was Michael Jordan.

I wish everyone the best and hope you can find other employment.

After that crazy news Michael Jordan came out with this announcement.

Jordan
While I am sorry to see the end of the NBA I must say that I also have news that makes me glad for a possible fresh start.
Many of have wondered what happened to this organization for there to be the need of such a great cleaning. Here is what happened.

Manfred Nissley was organizing the files in the file room one night and ran across a piece of paper that seemed out of place. He discovered that this piece of paper was an e-mail that had been printed out. He read this e-mail to see where it should be classified. Here is what he reported to me at 3 am that very morning.

"Dear Justin Timber O'Fritzlaker
I am pleased to report that the entire team is on board with your suggestion. All contracted players and I accept your special terms for the team to throw a certain number of games in order to ensure the Bobcats lose the said amount of games for the season.
Rich Cho"

We decided to not fire Paul Silas at that time due to financial troubles but we fired everyone else and traded all of the players who had decided to throw games. Thus the craziness of Manfred Nissley

Hey guys, it is I, Manfred Nissley, your friendly undertaker

You could say this my way of laying to rest something that I have greatly enjoyed. Time restraints and lack of outside activity on the page have created an impossibility of me continuing. If there had been even 10 comments at this point, I might have tried to make it work.

Be good folks! Be sure you are right with Jesus!

The Bobcats went into Indiana and the Pacers walked all over them!

1st quarter
The Bobcats opened the game on a 9-3 run in the first 5:26 of the game. The Pacers then turned the tables and took a 14-11 into the second quarter after Chandler picked up his second foul.

2nd quarter
The Pacers continued their run into the second quarter going up 26-16 3:54 to go in the quarter. Neither team could make a serious run from the rest of the quarter. The Bobcats did cut the lead to 28-35 going into the 3rd.

3rd quarter
The Cats cut the lead to 31-35 40 seconds into the quarter before the Pacers went on an 11-0 run to jump out to a 46-31 lead with 4:06 left in the quarter. With one minute to go the Cats were down by 20! The Cats cut that lead to a 44-60 going into the fourth.

4th quarter
The Bobcats tried to make a comeback by double teaming the Pacers in the fourth quarter. This worked somewhat as the Cats cut the lead to 61-70 with 2 minutes left. The surge was all for naught as the Pacers held off the Cats 75-64. The Cats did foul down the stretch and still could not make a serious run despite Diaw missing 3 free throws.

Odd stat: Former Pacer center Roy Hibbert did not make his presence known in this game. The coach is livid with him and might bench him next game.

Two new guys help Cats defeat Hawks!

The Bobcats win a close game and the new guy gets the player of the game honors.

1st quarter
The Bobcats went on a 7-0 lead part way through the quarter to take a 13-6 lead with 2:26 left. The Hawks then went on an 11-2 run to take a 17-15 lead despite Josh Smith picking up his 2nd foul with a minute to go in the quarter.

2nd quarter
The Hawks opened up the quarter by taking a four point lead. The Cats roared back to tie the game and eventually led the game 29-27 with 2:49 left in the quarter. The Cats held a 34-31 lead at the end of the quarter.

3rd quarter
Neither team could make a significant run in the quarter. Josh Smith picked up his forth foul and despite this the Hawks took a 44-43 lead with 1:15 left in the quarter. The Bobcats finished the quarter on a 6-2 run to take a 49-46 lead into the fourth quarter.

4th quarter
The Bobcats opened the fourth quarter with a 4-0 run to take a 53-46 lead with 6 minutes left. The Cats held a 59-52 lead with 2:41 after which the Hawks went on a 6-0 run to get within 1 point at 59-58. With 28 seconds left the Bobcats led 61-60 and the Hawks turned to fouling the Bobcats. The Cat player hit both free throws and gave the Cats a 63-60 lead with 24.7 seconds left. The Cats were able to keep the Hawks from scoring on their trip down the floor. The Bobcats pushed ball up the floor and the Hawks tried to foul the Cats on the floor. A certain Bobcat, Kemba Walker, was smart because just as the Hawk was about to wrap his talons around the Cat, the Cat hoisted up a three. He missed the shot but got three free throws! With 1.9 seconds left the Hawks were down 60-66 and they called timeout. On the inbounds pass a certain Hawk, Joe Johnson, was left wide open and he nailed the only Hawk three! Thankfully it did not matter much as the Cats escaped the clutches of the Hawks and won 66-63.

Odd Stat: Jamario Moon scored 6 points in only 4 minutes!

Slumping Cats lose to Celtics and then make a big trade.

The Bobcats went into Boston and despite making a good game of it still lost.

1st quarter
The Celtics raced out to a 11-2 lead with 2:30 left in the first quarter. The Bobcats then went on a 11-6 run to close the gap to 13-17 heading into the second quarter.

2nd quarter
The Bobcats continued their run and after going on a 11-4 run to start the second quarter the Bobcats held a 24-21 lead with 4:06 lead. The Celtics then went on a 10-2 run to take a 31-26 lead with 1:49 left in the quarter. The Bobcats finished the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 32-31 lead going into halftime after drawing a second charging foul on Paul Pierce (his third in the first half).

3rd quarter
The Bobcats held a 38-37 lead with 4:10 left in the third after Pierce picked up his fourth foul! The Celtics got a little ticked off at the refs and took it out on the bobcats by going on a 9-3 run to take a 46-41 lead with 50 seconds left in the quarter. The Cats cut that lead to 46-48 by the end of the third quarter.

4th quarter
The Celtics held a 51-46 lead when Pierce picked up his fifth foul with 4:55 left in the game! Unfortunately the Cats were not able to take advantage of his absence. The Celtics were able to take a 56-48 lead with 4:13 left. The Bobcats made a run and cut the lead to 55-56 with 2:42 left. With 43 seconds left the Celtics held a 62-47 lead. The Bobcats tried to hoist up a three that missed, thankfully one of the bobcats was able to put in driving layup with 10 seconds left. It didn't matter as the Bobcats could not force a turnover and lost 66-62.

Odd Stat:  Eric Gordon continued his horrible shooting, as a result he got traded!

1AM 1/6/2012 ESPN-TV SportsCenter Announcer 1 - Jack
Hi guys, it's me again

SportsCenter Announcer 2: And it is I, Allen Iverson. What have you got for us Jack?

Jack
Manfred Nissley is at it again!

AI
What did he do this time?

Jack
He landed Monte Ellis!

AI
What did the Warriors get?

Jack
The received Eric Gordon, Dahntay Jones, and the Bobcats first round pick in 2013.

AI
Interesting trade. Jones is old and the 2013 Cats pick could go either way depending on how the Cats do next year and they might even get a steal in the draft! Furthermore they get Gordon. Gordon could become really good, but at this point the scouts say he has limited upside. From the Bobcats perspective they did not need that draft pick and it was chump change for them.

Jack
Thank you for the excellent analysis! I do have another question. What do you think of the Bobcats signing Jamario Moon?

AI
That is an interesting signing. With Jones leaving the Cats needed a decent veteran and they got that with Moon. He still has some hops which will make him a favorite with the home crowd. There are rumors that he wasn't allowed to show his hops with his former teams and that Bobcats are telling him to jump for the moon.

Jack
Thank you Allen! You provide so much more than either of my other co-hosts!

Slumping 22-8 Cats lose to 9-18 Cavs

The Bobcats went to Cleveland and got destroyed by the upstart Cavs and the young phenom Kyrie Irving.

1st quarter
The Cats opened the quarter on a 4-0 run. The Cats came back and with 4:28 left in the quarter led 8-6. The Cavs then went on an 11-3 run to take a 17-11 lead with 32.4 seconds left in the quarter. The Cats closed within two with 6 seconds left, but the Cavs extended their lead to 21-17, 2 seconds later.

2nd quarter
12 seconds into the second quarter Chandler picked up his third foul and was held out the rest of the quarter and the Cavs extended their lead to 22-17. The Cats cut the lead to 2 at 27-25 with 3:58 left in the quarter. The Cavs then went on a 7-1 run to take a 34-26 lead with 2:23 left in the quarter. The Cats then made a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 34-33. Neither team could create a run for the rest of the quarter and the Cavs held a 37-36 lead going into halftime.

3rd quarter
The Cats opened up the 3rd quarter by taking a 38-37 lead. The Cavs retaliated by taking a 44-38 lead while causing Chandler to pick up his fourth foul. The Cats cut that lead to 44-42 before the Cavs went on a 5-0 run before the Cats went on a 6-2 run to cut the lead to a 51-48 with 1:41 left in the quarter. Unfortunately Kemba picked up his fourth foul and stymied the Cats comeback. The Cavs extended their lead to 54-50 heading into the fourth.

4th quarter
The Cavs extended their lead to 59-52 before the Cats made a serious run to tie the game at 61 with 3:24 left in the game. But that was the best the Cats could do as Kevin Love picked up his 5th foul. This allowed the Cavs to go on a 12-3 run to take a 73-64 lead from which the Cavs could not recover! The Cas did cut the lead to 73-69. Unfortunately the final nails in the coffin included Kemba and Chandler picking up their 5th fouls.

Odd Stat: Eric Gordon has gone ice cold after going 0-6 from the three point line and is now on the trading block. What I am considering is trading him for another starting big man that can run the floor, (ie Joakim Noah) and moving Love to the SF position and Chandler to the SG position.
