13-4 Cats get kicked in the side by 8-9 Spurs

The Bobcats came into this game knowing that the Spurs record did not seem to match the talent that the Spurs have. Boy, were they right!

7-7 Hawks up 12 in 4th get stunned by 12-4 Cats

The Hawks were up by 12 with 6:23 left to go in the game and they lost in overtime! What happened? Stay tuned.
For the first 6:17 of the game neither team could make a good run and the game was tied at 13. The Bobcats finished the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 19-13 lead into the second quarter. The Bobcats thought they would be able to coast from there and got sloppy. Suddenly the Bobcats could not hold onto the ball and the Hawks came back on an 8-0 to tie the game after being down 21-13 with 6:25 left in the second quarter. The Bobcats then took a stand and improved their offense for a while. Once again neither team could make a good run. The Hawks did have a 33-29 lead at halftime. In the first half there were 8 lead changes and 6 ties.
In the third quarter the Bobcats tied the the game a 33 with 6:40 left. The Hawks were leading 39-38 with 4:52 left in the third when they went on a 14-3 run to take a 53-41 with 51 seconds left in the third. During the run the Bobcats once again were not able to hold onto the ball! The Hawks led 54-44 at the end of the third.  The Hawks scored the first basket in the fourth to go back up 56-44. At this point it looked like the Bobcats were being eaten alive by the Hawks. The Bobcats then went on a 17-4 run to take a 61-60 lead with 3:06 left in the fourth after Chandler got hot! The Hawks then hit two shots to put themselves up 64-61 before the Bobcats hit a 3 tie the game up at 64. The Hawks then hit two pointer and after the Bobcats missed a quick shot the Hawks came down the floor to run out the clock. With 24.8 seconds left one of the Bobcats got baited into fouling one of the Hawks. That Hawk only hit one free-throw. Seven seconds later the game was tied again at 67 after a quick Bobcat three. Due to good defense the Hawks were not able to hit a three of their own.
In overtime the Hawks scored the first Basket. After that point the Bobcats took the lead but gave it up. The Bobcats said enough of this and finished the game on a 10-4 run to win 79-75.

Odd Stat: Joe Johnson picked up all 5 of his steals in the first half!

11-4 Cats beat 9-6 Nets-send them home limping.

11-4 Cats beat 9-6 Nets and send them home limping.
The Bobcats and Nets had a game that looked as though the Nets were going to surprise the Bobcats. Neither team was able to get going in the first quarter. The Bobcats scored the first bucket with 6:42 left in the quarter and Stevenson promptly tweaked his ankle. He was good to go however and went on to play 22 minutes. The Bobcats were leading 7-6 when Kris Humphries twisted his ankle, he was also able to keep going and played 21 minutes. The Nets ended up winning the quarter 10-9.
In the second quarter the Nets had a 23-16 lead with 3:35 left in the quarter. The Bobcats went on a 8-0 run. At the end of that run Kris Humphries pushed Martell Webster in Damion James. Damion James went down and is out 2-4 weeks with a severe ankle sprain. The Bobcats finished the quarter on a 5-4 run to take a 29-27 lead into the half despite Kevin Love picking up his 4th foul with 1:17 left in the second quarter. During the last 1:11 of the second quarter Humphries picked up his third foul and Wilson Chandler picked up his third.
During the third quarter the Bobcats and Nets traded baskets and the game was tied at 47 with 1:01 left in the quarter when Humphries picked up his fourth. TheBobcats answered with a 6-2 run to take a 53-49 lead going into the fourth. The Bobcats opened the fourth with a 4-2 run before Love picked up his 5th foul. The Nets only hit one free throw and the Humphries returned the favor of picking up his 5th foul and the Bobcats hit one free throw. and the score was 58-52. The Nets hit a shot to cut the score to 58-54 Bobcats before the Bobcats went on a 7-0 run to take a 65-54 lead. The Nets tried to make a run but it was to no avail and the Bobcats won 71-61.

Odd stat: Rush was the only Bobcat not to score.
